It did represent, however, a departure from my usual knit-on-the-bus-and occasionally-during-a-movie routine, and I've found myself taking a bit of a break now that it's done. This is the sum total of my knitting in the last several days, and it's causing me a bit of a dilemma:
If I were to try another color scheme, I'd probably keep the brown and replace the purple with Shibui sock yarn in Wasabi, which would be a different thing altogether. (Okay, okay, I'll say it: it would be a whole nother thing. Mark my words, friends, "nother" will be in the OED in our lifetimes. But I digress.)
What do you think? Stick with the berry fudge sundae or try something new? FYI: I'm not happy with my tension in this mitt so far, and ripping and reknitting may happen anyway... so that's no deterrent to switching colors.

I'm torn, because I like both color schemes, but Shibui sock yarn is so *luscious*!! Okay, fine. I say go with the Wasabi!
I agree with Pamela...those mitts are gorgeous as is, but the Wasabi might offer a bit more contrast if that's what you're looking for! Stunning either way!
Go for the wasabi - it sounds like you're too much on the fence with the colors as it is and the wasabi would definitely create a crisper design.
Oh, I love the Wasabi and agree that there is little point in doing color work if you have little contrast. The blackberry would be great for socks.
Wasabi, wasabi! (Although I hate real wasabi with a passion, so it feels strange to be avering for it so forcefully). Wasabi!
As the future wearers of these mitts, my wrists cry: Wasabi!
Definitely go with the wasabi! The original colors do look fabulous together, but maybe they need to be used in a project that calls for larger blocks of color.
Still, those are some delicious lookin' mittens you've got there.
